Another key figure mentioned is Tang Yew Tan, a previous senior executive at Apple who later assumed the role of Chief Hardware Officer at OpenAI. Apple alleges that Tan engaged in discussions with OpenAI affiliates and Apple suppliers prior to his departure, raising concerns about potential conflicts of interest and the sharing of strategic information.
According to Apple, OpenAI has systematically targeted its proprietary technology, leveraging Apple’s manufacturing expertise, product development insights, and supply chain relationships to expedite its entry into the burgeoning consumer AI hardware sector.
