In the first half of 2026, Jakarta maintained its leading position as Indonesia’s premier investment hotspot, attracting a total of Rp 173.6 trillion ($9.7 billion) in investments. This impressive sum was comprised of Rp 106.5 trillion from domestic sources and Rp 67.1 trillion from foreign direct investment (FDI), underscoring robust investor confidence in the nation’s capital.
Focusing on the second quarter alone, Jakarta saw investments reach Rp 94.9 trillion ($5.3 billion), which represented 18.5% of Indonesia’s overall investment realization. In terms of domestic investment, the city topped the national charts with Rp 58.6 trillion, while its foreign direct investment tally stood at Rp 36.3 trillion, positioning it as the second most favored destination for FDI in the country.
The capital’s strong investment performance was attributed to ongoing enhancements in the ease of doing business, improved public services, and a generally favorable investment environment. These factors have collectively bolstered Jakarta’s appeal to both local and international investors.
Meanwhile, West Java secured the second spot nationally in terms of attracting investments, with a total of Rp 138.1 trillion during the same period. This further highlights the competitive landscape of investment destinations within Indonesia, with regions striving to create conducive climates for economic growth.
