Indonesia’s Finance Ministry has introduced a new structure for its fiscal management by detailing the responsibilities of three deputy finance ministers. Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara announced the allocation of duties to enhance focus and coordination within the ministry while maintaining collective oversight over national fiscal matters.
Deputy Finance Minister Juda Agung has been tasked with overseeing the financial sector, international affairs, and financing. Nurkholisoh Ibnu Aman will handle state revenue, which includes taxes, customs and excise duties, and non-tax revenue. Luky Alfirman is set to manage state expenditure, treasury operations, and transfers to regional governments. All these appointments aim to bolster Indonesia’s fiscal administration amid ongoing revenue collection and public spending efforts.
Despite the division of responsibilities, the finance minister emphasized that the deputies will continue to collaborate on overall management, organizational matters, human resources, and the budget. This collaborative approach is designed to ensure that the ministry operates efficiently and effectively under the new arrangement.
The appointments of Alfirman and Nurkholisoh, alongside Agung, were formalized under Presidential Decree No. 104P of 2026. Alfirman brings extensive experience as a senior Finance Ministry official, while Nurkholisoh has a background as an economist and researcher at Bank Indonesia.
In a related development, Nazara reported that Indonesia’s state revenue reached approximately 2,341.5 trillion rupiah by the end of September 2026, marking a 25.5% increase compared to the same period last year. This figure represents 74.2% of the government’s revenue target for the year, reflecting the country’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its fiscal policies and administration.
